Club Meeting Minutes January 5, 2011

1.1 This is the Monthly Member Meeting Report of the January 5th, 2011 meeting
1.2 We had a Call to Order at 7:35 PM and held the Pledge of Allegiance.
1.3 Secretary Jeff Charles read former Secretary Phil Alvaro’s notes from the meeting of December 1, 2010. These were accepted.
1.4 Vice President Matt Laniak reported on the new memberships and applications received.
1.5 The new members voted-in were: Sal DiBiase and Herman Garcia.
1.6 New membership applications presented that evening were: Kyle Wilson, David Knab, Keith Woodward and Greg West.
1.7 Treasurer Karen Davis reported that with the recent transfer of position with the former treasurer, she is still working on obtaining access to all of the necessary financial information to be able to provide reporting on club expenses. Club financial information will be made available to any members upon request and will be reported at the meetings but will not be included in the meeting minutes posted on the new website.
1.8 Karen indicated concern with regard to the annual club expenses and revenues with respect to the budget for 2011; it appears that a negative net balance may have occurred over the last three (3) years; will be discussed at the upcoming Officers meeting.
1.9 Karen is also looking into verifying that the club’s tax exempt paperwork is in order.
1.10 Field Captain Carl German was not present.
1.11 Officer of Fish and Game Mike Buggie reported that he will post DEC hunting and fishing information in the clubhouse. He noted that if you are ice-fishing, you should make sure the ice is at least 4-inches thick and to never ice-fish by yourself.
1.12 Officer of Grounds Bob Smith reported that the high-house roof has been temporarily patched and that a new leak was noticed today in one of the club house toilet rooms; and one of the overhead lights is not working and may need a new transformer.
1.13 Officer of the House Liz Druziako had no report. (Note: Liz will not be able to attend the upcoming Feb. & March monthly meetings).
1.14 Quartermaster Tom Wallace had no report.

1.15 Officer of Competitive Shooting Jim Furey was present. On behalf of Jim, Roger Deburgomaster reported that our club held a Livingston County Trap league shoot with a good turn-out of almost 90 participants, bringing-in approximately $800 to the club. On Sunday January 9th, The Livingston County Falcons will be hosting an event from 8:00 to 1:00; shooting events will then end and start-up with the Ontario event in February (the 5th and 6th).
1.16 Officer of Training/Sportsman Education Dave Arft was not present. Dick Gatto reported that Hunter Safety and Bow-hunter courses will start-up again in April. They are looking for another instructor to assist with the courses. He noted that cross-bows will be allowed during late bow/muzzleloader season however, DEC licensing requirements remain unknown.
1.17 Chairman of the Board of Directors Ray Sherbinski reported that the club budget and expenses were briefly discussed at the BOD meeting on December 7th; will be an agenda item at the upcoming Officers and Directors meeting which will be held on January 20th.
1.18 There was no Old Business.
1.20 President Homer Cessna raised the question of how we will conduct the 2011 Gun Raffle; this will be discussed further at the upcoming Board of Directors meeting on January 20th.
1.21 Ron Stappenback will coordinate MCL website access with Secretary Jeff Charles to allow monthly member meeting minutes to be posted on the MCL website.
1.22 There were approximately 37 members present that evening.
1.23 A 50:50 Raffle was conducted.
1.24 Don Thorpe entertained us with a joke.
1.25 The meeting adjourned at 8:05 P.M.
